Le Grand Camus really is a luxuriously fitted gite; with spacious and light open plan living including an exceptionally well equipped kitchen including a range cooker with 5 ring hob and double oven, comfortable seating area with three sofas, TV, DVD and woodburner; dining area with views of the grounds through french windows.
The ground floor bedroom has ziplock beds that are normally configured as a kingsize double, convertable to twin singles on request; the shower room is just opposite, an ideal room for guests wishing to avoid stairs.
On the first floor, featuring exposed beams throughout, are two more bedroom suites - the second bedroom also has ziplock beds, usually arranged as twin singles, but can be reconfigured as a kingsize double bed if desired, there is a spacious ensuite shower room.
The superb, dual aspect master suite has a super-kingsize 4 poster bed and chandeliers, plus a bath as well as a separate shower cubicle in the ensuite - a beautiful, romantic room that any couple will appreciate.
All three bedrooms have plenty of storage space, chairs, mirrors and duvets in a choice of weights. The shower cubicles are extra large, the sinks are inset in vanity units with mirrors and power points above, and a hair dryer is provided in each bathroom. Panel heaters keep the house comfortable out of summer months. British guests do not need to bring plug adaptors, a multi-point UK socket adaptor is supplied in each room.
Outside there is a big, private deck with barbecue and hardwood outdoor dining furniture, and a lawned area which opens onto the extensive enclosed paddock / orchard shared with Le Petit Camus next door. Plenty of onsite parking is available and there is a cycle rack in the grounds.
A village with excellent auberge is 2km, or the bustling town of Plemet, with shops, supermarket, several restaurants, park and lake is 5 minutes drive. In the immediate area there are several other towns that have regular markets and a good selection of places to eat, as well as seasonal street festivals and brocante stalls.
There is an indoor swimming pool complex in Loudeac and a summer outdoor Lido in La Cheze. The sports centre beside the River Lie has kayaks and cycles for hire and a riding stables in Loudeac Forest organises accompanied pony treks.
Just an hours drive from St Malo ferry port and Dinard or Rennes airports, Le Camus is an easy to reach holiday destination and a great touring base for this beautiful region where medieval market towns, castles, forests, lakes as well as stunning beaches, fashionable marinas and several golf courses provide attractions for many tastes.
